Offshore wind energy: Aries is collaborating with Energy Esteyco in the Elisa project
Offshore wind energy: Aries is collaborating with Energy Esteyco in the Elisa project. This is a development project of telescopic towers, made of concrete, and intended for the installation of offshore wind turbines in the energy sector.
This new telescoping system for lifting towers, allows mounting at low levels (maximum 50 meters) and then to be raised to 140 meters or more using hydraulic jacks. This technology is proven in many sectors and complex operations for over 30 years.
The telescopic precast concrete tower is aimmed to the niche market in which competition of the concept highlights: tall towers, large turbines and limited movements of large cranes.
In 2013 was performed a demonstration of the experimentar jack-telescoping tower of the Elisa project organized by Esteyco Energia and ALE Heavy-Lift. In the demonstrations the offshore towers project was explained, with the development of technology and assembly methods for precast concrete towers and foundations for wind high power turbines at medium and high depths and their application to onshore towers. It was attended by nearly 60 professionals, where they witnessed the success of the telescoping process.
This project has been funded by Esteyco Energia and ALE Heavy-Lift, grant Eurostars and CDTI, and collaboration, among others, of CEDEX, DNV-GL, Applus + Laboratories, Siport21, Aries Industrial y Naval Servicios, Berenguer Ingenieros and Principia.
